Europe: The Disenchantment of its Citizens

'We are not bringing together states, we are uniting people', said Jean Monnet back in 1952.  Not many people in Europe are aware of the power that the European institutions have and how much they influence their daily lives.  Raising public awareness about the EU and involving citizens in its activities is still one of the greatest challenges facing the EU institutions today.  The EU is lagging behind in its efforts.
